Random number generator
Pick one or many random whole numbers between a minimum and a maximum.
Generated in your browser with secure randomness. Nothing is sent or saved.
Set the minimum, maximum and how many numbers you want, then press Generate new. Tick "No repeated numbers" for a draw without replacement, such as lottery-style picks.
How the numbers are chosen
Each number is drawn uniformly from the range using the browser's cryptographic random source. The code rejects values that would favor some numbers over others, so every number in the range has the same chance.
With and without repeats
- With repeats: each draw is independent, so the same number can appear more than once, like rolling a die several times.
- Without repeats: once a number is drawn it cannot appear again, like drawing numbered balls from a bag. You cannot ask for more unique numbers than the range contains.
This tool picks whole numbers. If you need a secret rather than a number, use the password generator.
Frequently asked questions
Is it truly random?
The numbers come from the secure random number generator built into your browser, which is designed for cryptographic use. It is suitable for games, picking winners and similar uses. It is not an audited source for regulated gambling or official draws.
Are negative numbers allowed?
Yes. The minimum and maximum can be negative, as long as the maximum is not lower than the minimum.
