Privacy Policy
Effective: October 7, 2026 · Last updated: October 7, 2026
In short
- The app has no accounts. It does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your favorites and settings are saved on your device. The app does not send them to us, and we do not run a server for this app.
- The app shows a banner ad from Google AdMob, sends crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics and, where you allow it, usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase. These Google services collect device identifiers and technical data, described below.
- Where the law requires it, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested.
- The daily notification is created on your device. The app does not use push notifications.
1. Who we are
Bible Daily Verse (the "app") is published by E&P APPS, Israel ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Bible Daily Verse app on Android and the pages under ep-apps.com/bible-daily-verse. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Information the app handles
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows one banner ad at the bottom of the screen, served by Google AdMob. Advertising, usage statistics and crash reports (below) are the only parts of the app that send information off your device. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads software in the app collects information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier (Android advertising ID);
- your IP address, which indicates your general location (country, region or city);
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language, app version and network type;
- how you interact with ads, such as whether an ad was shown or tapped, and diagnostic data about the ad software.
Google may use this information to show ads based on your interests (personalized ads) where that is allowed, and otherwise to show ads based on context, to limit how often you see an ad, to measure ad performance and to detect fraud. On devices that support Android's Privacy Sandbox, the ad software may also use the advertising topics and attribution features provided by Android.
Consent for ads
Each time the app starts, it asks Google's User Messaging Platform whether consent is needed where you are. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in other places where the law requires it, the app shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested, and you can accept, refuse or choose by purpose. To decide this, Google's consent software receives your IP address and basic device and app information. The app does not request any ad until the consent software says ads may be requested. If that cannot be determined, for example when the device is offline the first time the app opens, no ads are shown. Where privacy options are required, the app's Settings show "Ad privacy choices", which reopens the form so you can change your choice at any time. If you refuse consent, Google may still show ads that are not personalized, under its own terms.
We do not choose the individual ads and do not receive the information that Google collects about you. We see only combined statistics in our AdMob account, such as the number of ads shown and estimated earnings.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains technical details about the error, such as where in the app's code it happened, the device model, operating system version, app version, the time of the crash, and installation identifiers created by Firebase. These identifiers are random and are not your advertising identifier. A report does not include the verses you read, your searches or your favorites. If the device is offline, the report is sent the next time the app opens with a connection. Crash reports are sent whatever your choice about ads, because they are needed to keep the app working.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how the app is used and what to improve, the app sends usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service. This happens only where it is allowed: in places where the law requires consent, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, statistics are collected only if you agreed in Google's consent form to storing information on your device. If you refused, or have not answered yet, nothing is sent. Elsewhere, statistics are collected from the first time the app opens with an internet connection.
The events the app records itself are:
- a verse was shared or copied (which translation, and whether it was the verse of the day, a verse you were reading or a favorite);
- a verse was added to favorites (which translation);
- a chapter was opened (which translation and which book of the Bible);
- a search was made (which translation and how many verses were found, never the words you searched for);
- the daily notification was turned on or off.
These events never contain the text of a verse, your search words, your favorites or anything you typed. Google Analytics also collects information automatically, including an app instance identifier, when the app was first opened and how long it is used, the device model, operating system version, language, app version, and your general location (country, region or city, derived from your IP address, which is not stored). The statistics are linked to our AdMob account, so that we can see ad revenue next to usage.
We see this information as statistics in our Firebase account, and use it only to understand and improve the app. To stop it, use "Ad privacy choices" in the app's Settings where it is shown and withdraw your consent, or uninstall the app. You can also reset the identifier by clearing the app's data in your device settings.
Daily notification
If you turn on the daily notification, the app asks for permission to show notifications (on Android 13 and later) and schedules a notification with the verse of the day at the time you choose. The notifications are prepared and scheduled on your device. They are not sent from a server, and the app does not use a push notification service. The app restores the schedule after the device restarts. You can turn the notification off in the app's Settings or in your device settings at any time, and the rest of the app works without it.
Information stored only on your device
The app saves the following in its private storage on your device:
- the translation you selected, which also sets the app's language;
- the verses you marked as favorites, saved as references such as "John 3:16";
- your ad consent choices, saved by Google's consent software in the standard formats used by the advertising industry (such as the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework), so the app knows on the next launch what you chose;
- whether the daily notification is on, the time you chose for it, and whether you have already answered the in-app question about notifications.
- a count of the days on which the app was opened, and whether the app has already asked Google Play to show its rating window, so that it asks only once.
The app does not send this information to us or to anyone else. If device backup is turned on in your Android settings, Android may include app data such as these settings in the backup kept in your own Google account, under Google's terms. The app leaves Android backup turned on, so these settings and favorites can be restored when you set up a new device. You can turn backup off in your device settings.
Sharing and copying a verse
When you tap Share, the app hands the verse text to Android's share sheet, and it goes to the app you pick there, such as a messaging app. When you tap Copy, the verse text is placed on your device's clipboard. The app does not keep a record of what you share or copy.
Searching and reading
The Bible texts are included in the app. Reading, browsing and searching happen on your device and work without an internet connection. The words you search for are not saved or sent anywhere. Where usage statistics are on, only the fact that a search was made and the number of results are recorded.
3. Information the app does not collect
The app does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera input, or precise location. It has no user accounts.
4. Permissions
| Permission | Why the app has it |
|---|---|
| Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | To show the daily verse notification. Asked only when you turn the notification on. |
| Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) | To restore the scheduled daily notifications after the device restarts. |
| Vibrate, prevent sleep, foreground service (VIBRATE, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE) | Declared by the notification and advertising software the app is built with, for delivering notifications and background tasks. |
| Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) | To load ads and send crash reports and usage statistics. The Bible texts do not need an internet connection. |
| Advertising ID and Android ad services (AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS) | Declared by the Google Mobile Ads software, to serve and measure ads. |
5. How the information is used
- To provide the app's features: your translation, favorites and daily notification.
- To show ads and measure their performance, which is how the app is funded.
- To find and fix crashes and errors.
- To understand how the app is used and improve it.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, advertising that uses identifiers relies on your consent where consent is required by law, and otherwise on our legitimate interest in funding a free app. Crash reports rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. Usage statistics rely on your consent where consent is required by law, and otherwise on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app.
6. Who receives information
We do not sell your personal information. Advertising, usage and crash information is processed by:
- Google (AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics): Google Privacy Policy, Privacy and Security in Firebase and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Showing ads that use your advertising identifier may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state privacy laws. You can opt out using the choices in section 8. Google may process information in the United States and other countries outside your own.
7. How long information is kept, and deletion
We do not run our own servers for this app and hold no copy of your data ourselves. Favorites and settings stay on your device until you remove them, clear the app's data in your device settings, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes the data it stored on your device. Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days. Usage statistics that are tied to an app instance identifier are kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months; combined statistics that no longer relate to a single device are kept longer. Advertising data is kept by Google for periods set by Google.
8. Your choices and rights
- Ads: where the app's Settings show "Ad privacy choices", use it to change or withdraw your consent at any time. In your device settings (Settings, then Google, then Ads, or Privacy, then Ads, depending on your device) you can delete or reset your advertising ID and turn off ad personalization. You can also manage how Google personalizes ads at My Ad Center.
- Notifications: turn the daily notification off in the app's Settings, or remove the notification permission in your device settings.
- Usage statistics: where the app's Settings show "Ad privacy choices", use it to withdraw your consent, which turns the statistics off. Clearing the app's data in your device settings resets the identifier used for them.
- Crash reports: the app has no setting to turn them off, because they only contain technical details needed to fix problems. Uninstalling the app stops them.
- Everything else: uninstalling the app removes the data stored on your device and stops all further collection.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because the app has no accounts and we hold no copy of your data, we usually cannot tell which data belongs to you. If you write to [email protected], we will explain how to make your request and help as far as we are able.
9. Children
Bible Daily Verse is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children and is not designed for or marketed to them, and the ads in it are not set up as ads for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at [email protected] and we will help.
10. Security
Favorites and settings are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read on a device that has not been modified. Information sent to Google for ads, usage statistics and crash reports is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. This website
These pages do not set cookies or run analytics scripts. They are hosted by Cloudflare and load fonts from Google Fonts, so those companies receive your IP address and browser details when you visit, as with any website. The home page remembers the translation you picked for the verse of the day in your browser's local storage, which is never sent to us.
12. Changes to this policy
If the app or this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's store listing or in the app.
13. Contact
Questions or requests about privacy: [email protected].
