Solitaire turn 1 (draw 1)
In turn 1 solitaire you turn over a single card from the stock each time. You see every card of the stock as you go through it, which makes it the friendliest way to play.
Turn 1 solitaire, also called draw 1, is Klondike where each draw flips one card from the stock to the waste. Because every stock card becomes playable as you pass through it, turn 1 is easier and wins more often than turn 3.
How to use the table
- Tap or click a card to play it on its best spot. Drag a card or a whole run to choose where it goes.
- Click the stock at the top left to turn over cards. Click it again when it is empty to go through the waste once more.
- Winnable deals come from a list a solver has already won. Replay any deal by its number, and the same cards appear in the Android app.
- Your game and statistics stay in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Keys: U undo, H hint, Space draw.
How turn 1 works
The rules are the same as in every Klondike game: seven columns, four foundations and a stock. The only difference is the draw. Each time you click the stock, one card moves to the waste and you can play it at once if it fits. When the stock is empty you can turn the waste over and go through it again. See turn 1 versus turn 3 for why the single card matters.
Why people choose turn 1
- Every card in the stock comes up, so you can plan with what you know.
- It is much easier to win, which makes it a good place to learn.
- A game is quick, and a comfortable length for a short break.
Tips for turn 1
- Still use the stock last. Make every column move you can before you draw. See the strategy guide.
- Count the cards you have already seen. In turn 1 you can remember which cards are left in the stock.
- Be careful with empty columns: keep them for kings. Read how to use empty columns.

When turn 1 starts to feel easy, try turn 3, which is the harder traditional version, or use winnable deals to be sure a deal can be won.
