Solitaire turn 3 (draw 3)

In turn 3 solitaire you turn over three cards from the stock at once, but only the top one can be played. It is the version many people grew up with, and it asks for more planning.

Short answer

Turn 3 solitaire, also called draw 3, is Klondike where each draw moves three cards to the waste and only the top one is playable. Cards underneath stay buried until you play the top one, so turn 3 is harder, and many deals cannot be won.

How to use the table

  • Tap or click a card to play it on its best spot. Drag a card or a whole run to choose where it goes.
  • Click the stock at the top left to turn over cards. Click it again when it is empty to go through the waste once more.
  • Winnable deals come from a list a solver has already won. Replay any deal by its number, and the same cards appear in the Android app.

How turn 3 works

Click the stock and three cards are dealt onto the waste, fanned out. Only the top card can be played. When you play it, the card under it becomes available. If you cannot play anything, you draw three more. The order of the stock never changes, so on the next pass you see the same cards in the same groups of three unless you played some of them. See turn 1 versus turn 3.
