How this QR code generator works
A short and checkable description of what happens when you type.
A QR encoder runs in your browser, turns your text into the standard QR pattern, and draws it as SVG. When you download, the file is created on your device. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored.
Encoding
The pattern is made by the open source Nayuki QR Code generator library (MIT License), which follows the QR Code Model 2 standard. It chooses the smallest version that fits your content at the error correction level you picked, and encodes text as UTF-8.
What the code contains
Exactly the text you see: the link, the Wi-Fi string, the vCard or the mailto link. There is no redirect and no hidden tracking parameter.
What is not done
- Your input is not sent to our servers and is not stored in your browser.
- Scans are not tracked, because they do not pass through us.
- Analytics, if you accept it, counts page visits only and never receives what you encode.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check this?
Yes. Open the network tab in your browser's developer tools and type: no requests are made while you type or download.
